The Name: "The Blind Pig" (Batch No. 77)
In Prohibition lore, a "Blind Pig" was a dive where you paid to see an attraction (like a pig) and were served "complimentary" gin to bypass the law. This bait follows that same philosophy: it looks like a simple trout, but the kick is in the delivery.
The Description
This is a High-Proof Wake/Crank Hybrid, a two-piece jointed swimbait built for those who prefer their strikes neat and heavy. It’s designed to be the "house spirit" of your tackle box—reliable, potent, and unmistakably custom.
The "Mash Bill" (Construction): Crafted with a tall-bodied, high-displacement silhouette, this lure is designed to "disturb the peace" on the surface. The heavy-duty Lexan square-bill is set at a steep angle, allowing it to produce a rhythmic, intoxicating wake at slow speeds or a "drunken hunt" when cranked down into the timber.
The Finish (The "Label"): The paint job is a "Cured Rainbow"—a matte pearl base that mimics the hazy glass of an old moonshine jar. It features a hand-stippled, high-contrast dorsal spotting pattern and a faint, sunset-pink lateral wash. It doesn't look like it came off a factory assembly line; it looks like it was finished in a workshop lit by a single bulb.
The Movement (The "Proof"): Connected by heavy-duty stainless steel pin-and-eye joints, the "Blind Pig" delivers a hard-knocking mechanical thud on the retrieve. The ghost-clear soft tail adds a subtle, flickering "top-shelf" shimmer that triggers the predatory instincts of fish that have seen every other standard lure on the market.
Best Served:
Slow-rolled over submerged grass at dawn or deflected hard off shallow stump fields. It’s best paired with 20lb-25lb fluorocarbon or 65lb braid and a rod that has enough backbone to handle a "double-shot" blow from a trophy-class fish.
